Family Pictures

YES, I am totally biased! But how can a picture with this devilishly, handsome, chubby cheek 4 month not make you so happy! :D

This shows Eli's complete personality; happy go lucky. Not a care in the world! Unless he's hungry :) There were so many pictures so I just compiled them! Enjoy!

Thanks Bethany Walters! We love them! <3

HALLOWEEN!

What a fun time! Holidays are upon us people! LOVE LOVE LOVE! We got our Halloween decorations up and carved pumpkins! Went to the Ward Trunk or Treat! And can I just say it is so hard to figure out what to dress an infant in! There are so many cute ideas out there. So we were a rock star band, still waiting on our pictures though.

Little Rock star pumpkin!

Happy Halloween!

My Forever Family

Eli's Blessing Day was not only chaotic and busy, but so sweet! We got to have lots of family show; which was so exciting. I loved my little man's blessing outfit. It was my brother's. My dad brought it up and at first I was worried. It was exactly what I wanted but it had aged with the color to show it. So I went to work the night before; I washed it then took bleach to it. WALLA! A brand new blessing suit. It was a little big for Eli but he pulled it off.

How grateful I am to have my family. There is nothing I wouldn't trade for the three boys I have in my life (Matt, Eli, and Titus).

Heavenly Father has blessed us with this little one. After Eli's blessing the hymn song for the sacrament was "God loved us so He sent His Son". I pondered on how much God truly loves each and every one of us to give this precious child to us which we would do anything for.

"The Lord gives no commandments to his children that are not calculated to make them happy and thus successful. Therefore, he has added to the basic commandment of “be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth,” the reason for so doing: that you may have joy and rejoicing in your posterity." - PRESIDENT HARTMAN RECTOR, JR

Eli's Story

So this post is more for me to remember then anything else. I keep telling myself to journal it but forget, so I will get it done now. The doctor stripped my membranes about 3 times.... nothing! And I was dilated to almost a 5. The doctor said told me he wouldn't be surprised if he saw me before he would induce me the next day. The week before I had contractions and major pressure, but to no avail we went into the hospital the next morning at 7 am. Unfortunately my breakfast did not stay down while brushing my teeth. Uck! And off we went 2 mins away from the hospital.

While walking to Labor and Delivery I saw a lady I worked with. I ducked and hid my face till we passed hoping she didn't notice me. When we checked in our nurse was one we had taken classes from. Oh and how we loved her! She was fantastic. I got to have flavored ice. ;) After all the procedures I got started on pit. I was doing great and at 10 am the doctor broke my water. (Weirdest feeling by the way)! Things were going good for a while and it was fun to watch the contractions until they were painful. And then Matt decided he would tell me "Oh here comes another one"! Not helpful when trying to relax!

Epidural here I come! Best decision; oh oh oh so good. The anesthesiologist was hilarious. He made Matt sit and joked around with us. He told me "You'll tell me you love me after this and your husband will be in the room and it will be totally fine!" and then "This will only feel like a bee sting" to which I replied "Have you ever had an epidural before?" No he had not but I didn't feel a thing. As the medication began I felt a cool sensation run down my back. Best feeling to go from pain to nothing! Plus I did not realize how hot, sweaty, and tense I was until then.

So Matt did homework, I took a nap, watch the World Cup (USA vs. Belgium [While pushing the Doctor watched the game with us as well; due to my o's and a's of almost goals]), and laughed and chatted. Matt say it was a completely different labor once the epidural came.

Time went by and I began to get impatient with my mother; for I knew I was waiting on her to send my little one down. I tried to be patient then told her I couldn't wait any longer.

At the beautiful (not physically well he is but, anyway you get it) time of
 4:39 pm

Eli Wesley of 8 lbs 7 oz
20 3/4 inches long
 arrived mo-hawk and all!

Blessed more than anything to hold this little ones in my arms. Although I never imagined my body able to hold an 8.7 baby! *Hopefully it goes down hill from there-  fingers crossed*
But the joy he has brought already is immeasurable!

-Oh and Matt changed his first baby diaper that night! He was proud! As am I to have such a great husband and son!
